Supplier and inclusive customer reach
CSAA is committed to offering
suppliers an opportunity to compete
for our business. By diversifying our
supplier base, we also potentially
increase innovation, attract talent and
help the communities by adding new
business opportunities, tax revenue
and income.
In the interest of increasing visibility
and awareness of our Supplier
Inclusion program, we conducted
meetings with our top suppliers
to emphasize the importance of
inclusion and sustainability and
influence progression. We also
enhanced partnerships with business
service organizations that can play a
critical role in educating companies
about available contracts. These
include The Women’s Business
Development Center, National
Minority Supplier Development
Council, The National Gay & Lesbian
Chamber of Commerce, and the
Western Regional Minority Supplier
Development Council. For the latter,
we served as a premier sponsor
of four major networking events
designed to connect minorityowned businesses with major-buying
organizations like CSAA.
We also rolled out our new Supplier
Code of Conduct, which includes
CSAA’s expectations and values
regarding inclusion and sustainability,
our high regard for safe working
conditions, fair and respectful
treatment of employees, and ethical
practices. It also covers artificial
intelligence, how to manage CSAA’s
information, guidance on gifts and
entertainment, and more. More than
350 contracted suppliers have now
received a copy of our Supplier
Code of Conduct. And it will become
a part of the supplier onboarding
process in 2025.
In 2024, we teamed up with SpotzCity
in Rosemont, Ill., to provide insight to
suppliers on the importance of having
a risk mitigation plan; we served as
a California Department of Insurance
symposium panelist, providing more
than 150 suppliers with insights on
contracting opportunities in the
insurance sector; and we conducted
one-on-one meetings with 32 suppliers
invited by the California Statewide
Coalition on Diversity Initiatives.
We also launched a redesigned
Supplier Inclusion and Sustainability
program in 2024. This program
now serves as a one-stop shop
of information for potential and
existing suppliers.
CSAA's new supplier portal system
provides a centralized, easy-tonavigate database of suppliers
accessible to its procurement team
members, streamlining the process of
sourcing qualified businesses.
CSAA spent $71M with 221 inclusive
businesses in 2024—representing
19% of our total managed spend
with suppliers. This marks a 4% spend
increase from 2023.
