Our Impact
2024
From our CEO
We continue to be transparent and
accountable to our goals and targets
on our climate journey. To further
engage external audiences, we
publish this report annually as well as
informational social media posts and
LinkedIn articles.
Increasing accountability with CDP
For the third year, we voluntarily
submitted our climate journey,
including our emission inventories,
to the CDP (formerly the Carbon
Disclosure Project), a not-for-profit
charity that runs a global disclosure
system for investors, companies,
cities, states and regions to manage
their environmental impacts.
Reporting our environmental data
through CDP aligns with our goals
of transparency and accountability
as we continue to advance our
climate journey. Further, it enables
us to protect and improve CSAA’s

reputation, boost competitive
advantage, uncover risks
and opportunities, and track and
benchmark our climate progress.
CSAA scored a C in 2024. Our
results offer insights that will help us
establish specific goals across our
company to deepen accountability
as we continue our climate journey.
As we prepare for California Climate
Bill SB253 we will adjust our method
of disclosure to align with the
regulatory landscape.
TCFD
In 2022, we adopted reporting
standards from the Task Force on
Climate-Related Financial Disclosures
(TCFD) to help us better prepare
for climate impacts to our business
and policyholders. The Financial
Stability Board created the TCFD to
develop recommendations on the
types of information that companies

should disclose to support investors,
lenders and insurance underwriters
in appropriately assessing and pricing
a specific set of risks — risks related
to climate change. CSAA’s first TCFD
report was issued in November 2022.
